HISTORY
In 1954, St. Jude Parish of Sinajana was a flourishing community within the vicariate of Agana. The increasing number of young people needing instructions in their Catholic faith augmented the desirability of a Catholic school within the parish. In 1955, in response to the invitation of the late Bishop Apolinaris Baumgartner to operate and to staff a school and a health center, the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration from LaCrosse, Wisconsin, prepared themselves to meet the challenge of the Bishop’s request. Under the leadership of the pastor, Father Raymond Demers, OFM Cap., the parish of St. Jude came alive. Land was procured and cleared, prayers and sacrifices were offered; the parish response was enthusiastic!
PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Obispo Families and Community,
Though this school year is projected to be different from any other, together, we will continue our tradition of providing Catholic education to our students and quality service to our families. I am truly honored to continue leading the Obispo community alongside Dr. Rita D. Duenas, President for the 2020-2021 school year. We have accomplished so much as a school community, and we will continue to do so. This new learning model does not need to be a barrier, but instead will serve as an opportunity to change our mindset as it relates to the delivery of instruction and engaging students in learning. This year, I am very much looking forward to providing exceptional educational experiences for our students. I want students to leave Bishop Baumgartner with memories that will last a lifetime! We want our students to LOVE learning and LOVE coming to school, even if it is virtually. With your help, we can instill life-long values in our students to work hard, exceed expectations, and to appreciate their education. Though we are forced to adapt our teaching and learning methods to address the conditions of the pandemic, our heart for our students and families remains the same, and we will do everything in our power to keep our students thriving. With your support, we can build on our past successes to take BBMCS to the next level. Thank you for your continued support and trust in Catholic education at Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School, Home of the Obispos.
May God bless You,
Lila M. Lujan,
Principal

Prayer is a plant, the seed of which is sown in the heart of every Christian, but its growth entirely depends on the care we take to nourish it. If neglected, it will die.
